Tradition meets taste at this ornately appointed South Indian speciality restaurant at the Taj Coromandel. While you try the dazzling variety of the south, served with a gracious hospitality on heavy silver trays, a quartet of musicians, sometimes accompanied by a classical dancer of note, also performs on a small stage area nearby. It's difficult to recommend any specific items since the chef's excel in bringing you the best from the four southern states. Their Appams are always a great hit, as also the Idiappams, and the Paniyarams. It's a great place for vegetarians. Southern Spice is also famous for celebrating the major festivals of the south with special displays and food preparations that are a mark of an agriculturally rich society.
