This large and sprawling restaurant specializes in North-West Frontier food. The golden flash on the white walls gives the visitors the feeling of sitting near a sigdi (clay oven). The Lunch Buffet (weekdays Rs. 549 plus taxes, weekends Rs. 607 plus taxes) and the Dinner Buffet (Rs. 688 plus taxes) with barbeque (served in the open area) are extremely popular. Many of the dishes sound familiar - Jal Jeera, Tomato Shorba, Tandoori Seekh Kebab, Raan, and so on. The Multani Chaat, double-fried potatoes with a tangy Imli Chutney, is a must-have. The Ajwaini Fish Tikka is a nice twist on fish tikka and the Seekh Kebab is a show-stealer. The Raan is another perfect dish, beautifully marinated in just the right amount of rum and malt vinegar. Vegetarians have some good choice from the main-course section. The Dal Sigree or Kali Dal is outstanding. The Glass Wali Kulfi and Malpua Rabadi make for great desserts. The bar menu includes a good selection of local and imported wines and liquors from all over the world. The Dilliwali Tikki, a sort of ragda patties with chutneys, is simply the best. I also liked the Pudina Jhinga and the fantastic new fillet of fish with a sweet chutney marinade. The show stopper, especially if you sit outside, has to be the fresh hot Jalebis made in front of you and served with Rabadi. The food is not light by any means, so go hungry! Service is excellent.
