Ingredients

  • 1 kg mangoes

    3 star anise grated rind

    2 sweet limes

    2 Tbsp sugar

    50 gm flour

    2 tsp cinnamon powder

    25 gm powdered walnuts

    75 gm rolled oats

    100 gm grated jaggery

    100 gm chilled, diced butter


    To Serve:

    Sweetened, chilled yoghurt

    1 Tbsp chopped, candied ginger

Method

Slice mangoes into a buttered, ovenproof dish.

Add star anise, rind and sugar.

Mix flour, spice, walnuts, oats and sugar together.

Rub in butter until mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Spread evenly over fruit.

Bake in a preheated oven at 190 degrees C until crust is crisp and golden.

Serve chilled with sweetened yoghurt mixed with ginger.
