Ingredients

  • 6 large bananas, semi-raw

    For Stuffing:
    2 tsp cumin powder

    1 tsp red chilli powder

    1 tsp coriander powder

    One and a half tsp chaat masala

    One and a half tsp ginger, chopped

    6-8 green chillies, chopped

    Juice of 6 lemons

    1 tsp amchoor

    Salt to taste

    For Batter:
    500g gram flour (besan)
    200g rice flour
    1 tsp red chilli, crushed

    For Tamarind Chutney:
    300g tamarind pulp (imli)
    2 tsp brown sugar

    1 ltr cooking oil (for frying)

    3 cucumbers (for garnish)

Method

Peel the bananas, extract pulp to make them hollow.

For the stuffing, mix together all the spices, ginger and green chillies.

Fill this stuffing in the hollowed bananas.

Now mix together gram flour, rice flour, crushed red chillies and water to get batter-like consistency.

Dip the bananas in the batter and deep fry them well till golden.

Serve with tamarind chutney.

For Chutney:
Mix in brown sugar and a pinch of salt in the tamarind pulp.
