A twist to the usual pan-fried or baked kebabs, these chicken kebabs are deep fried!

  • 1/2 kg chicken (boneless cubes)

    5 bamboo or metal skewers (6" long)

    2 Tbsp all purpose flour (maida)

    1/2 Tbsp chilly powder

    1/2 Tbsp paprika (kashimiri chilly powder)

    1 tsp garam masala powder

    1 Tbsp ginger-garlic paste

    1/8 tsp red food color

    1/2 tsp coriander powder

    1/2 tsp cumin powder

    1/2 tsp lemon juice

    2 tsp salt

    Oil for deep frying.


Mix all the ingredients very well & add chicken pieces in it, coat well & keep for marination 1-4 hrs.

When ready, put the chicken pieces on skewers.

Heat oil, deep fry chicken pieces.

Once done, garnish with onion & lemon wedges and serve along with mint chutney.


1. Use enough oil so that chicken pieces get submerged in oil while frying, it ensures uniform cooking.

2. Just when chicken pieces are put in hot oil, keep gas stove at high, it helps searing of chicken(retaining of moisture to keep it soft& juicy), then after equal searing reduce gas stove for further cooking.
