Ingredients

  • 4-5 mackerel fish (bangda)

    1 tbsp turmeric powder

    2 lemons

    Salt to taste

Method

Rub turmeric powder and salt on the Mackerel. Squeeze the lemon juice over the fish and allow it to stand for about a minute.

Wrap the marinated fish in a big banana leaf. Place this banana leaf with the mackerel on a small stack of hay and cover with more hay.

Light the hay, and wait till the fire dies down. Let the fish cook for about 5-8 minutes in the heat. Remove the smoked fish, squeeze some lemon juice and plate it.

Peel the skin off and enjoy the Mackerel, fisherman style.
