    A. There are two ways of cooking biryani -- either kacchi which uses raw mutton with uncooked rice. Or cooked mutton with half-cooked rice. You need to decide which works best for you and follow that procedure. I make both types. If you're cooking the mutton beforehand, you need to cook it through till it's soft - NOT just till it's parboiled.
